About

The Menai Bridge Community Heritage Trust

The Trust was established in 1997 as a community project to celebrate the two world famous bridges, the engineers who built them, the rich marine environment and outstanding natural beauty of the Straits and the story of the people of Menai Bridge.

Our vision is to provide an education and community centre at Canolfan Thomas Telford Centre and a permanent home on the Town’s Waterfront for our unique collection of historical, scientific, engineering, environmental and cultural artefacts.

Our Trustees are responsible for planning longer-term projects and the day to day operation of the Centre and the Exhibition. Profiles of the current trustees are on the Trustees page.

Volunteers staff the Exhibition, lead walks and give talks and help with special projects. Our three part time staff run the Community Centre, support its users and help the Trustees and Volunteers.

Our next BIG project is creating an all-weather tourist attraction on the Waterfront at Prince’s Pier which will be open all year round. It will house our museum, provide superb facilities for visitors and the community for discovery and relaxation.
