Our next musical event will be a Musical Matinee with the Tal y Fan Trio, at the Thomas Telford Centre, on 5 Sept., 2:30pm. Entrance is £3, including refreshments.

The Tal y Fan Trio are : Aled Owen, bassoon, Ruth Bethel, flute and Margaret Ashton, clarinet, joined by Mandy Pemberton on clarinet and piano.

The Trio will play Kotschau’s Divertimento, three Haydn Minuets, Suites by Susato and Hotteterre, as well as a variety of short pieces and ‘Lucy Long’, bassoon solo.

Margaret and Mandy will play clarinet duets by Crusell, and by Terry Kenny, arrangements of Mendelssohn’s Spring song and the Flower duet from Lakme, as well as Adagio from Weber Concerto no. 1, the chorus of the Hebrew Slaves, Acker Bilk’s Stranger on the Shore,and other pieces.
