Over the cold, wet and windy months of winter Menai Heritage Trustees and Menter Môn have made funding applications to the Welsh Government and Heritage Lottery Fund for almost £2 million to create the long-awaited heritage centre on the Waterfront in Menai Bridge.
Our vision is to turn the recently refurbished Victorian warehouse into an exhibition space and café so that the fascinating story of the Strait, its people, the bridges and their world-wide place in engineering history can be told. Our collections and exhibitions currently in the Thomas Telford Centre will be moved there.
You can read more about the project at http://menaibridges.co.uk/visit/princes-pier-development/. Besides the funding we’ve applied for, we will also need to raise match funding. If you would like to help please visit our donation page http://menaibridges.co.uk/get-involved/donate/.
