After the big success of the first event last month, we are having another get-together of the “Menai Bridge Memories” group for anyone who has great memories of the town of Menai Bridge.

As part of our major new project “Menai Bridge Memories” a Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/MenaiBridgeMemories/ ) was set up to allow those online to share photos and memories of growing up and living in the town. In just five months it has grown into a lively community involving almost 1000 current and former residents. Every day members post photos of people and places of the past, reminisce about old friends and family, and talk about days gone by. We are now hosting a series of informal drop in sessions at the Thomas Telford Centre, which will provide people with an opportunity to meet in person and exchange memories, as well as bring with them any items that they feel can contribute to the theme of the project.

This month’s event will be similar to the last one. It will be held on Wednesday evening October 28, from 5:30-8:00pm. There will be refreshments and our Bridges exhibition will be on display.

If you have any photos or objects of interest related to Menai Bridge please bring them along! We will have scanning facilities set up for any photos that you would like to donate to the Menai Heritage collections.

The event is open to all with and interest in the past of Menai Bridge, so please tell all your family and friends.
